I started painting bottles over 10 years ago - to fill out my herbal offerings at craft shows. Pretty soon they were the featured items. My customers expanded the 'olive oil' dispensing idea to include just about anything that pours - other oils, vinegars, dish soap, syrups, etc. I no longer do craft shows, but I still enjoy painting - and now I do it to order. Most of the pictures that follow are of my recent work. My designs include olives, garlic, red peppers (and mixtures of these images,) strawberries, blueberries, flowering herbs - just about anything botanical, including all flowers and fruit, butterflies and bumble bees. I don't do any mammals. Possibly some scenery - but you'll be happiest with my botanical images. I also have enjoyed matching china patterns and room décor.
My bottles are recycled so there is a huge variety of sizes, shapes and colors. All bottles come with a convenient pour spout. I paint with a non-toxic acrylic that hardens to an enamel type finish when baked in an oven. Because of this process, the hand painting does not chip or scratch off and is dishwasher safe.
Think of what you would like and let's talk - - due to illness and travel - there may be up to 6-week lead-time for a bottle - so think ahead for gift giving! (Lately, however, I have been shipping within 2 weeks.)
To get started - send me e-mail right off the web page.
Prices for hand painted bottles with pour spout start at about $15.00.
The images below are examples of my work. Click on the image to see a larger image.
Available in the same painted design types as above - but only one bottle style - as pictured. Hand painted bottle with pump: $17.95
New for 2006 - 3 sizes of hand painted salt and pepper shakers. Now you can match your china, celebrate a season, match your wall paper or whatever! For now they are the same price, regardless of size. And a very good price they are! Pair of hand painted salt and pepper shakers: $18.95. Indicate small, medium or large. There are only medium and large pictured.
If it can be baked in an oven, I can paint it. At a friend's request I painted this switch plate cover. So use your imagination - I am sure I will enjoy the challenge.
