For those of you who have seen me at Craft Fairs - I have begun to offer some of my salves and other healing products on the front table of my booth, where I used to sell my dips.

Here is a listing of those products with sizes and prices.

I only make two. Healing Salve and Aches and Pains. If you are interested in the story behind these salves - I have posted an excerpt from my upcoming book on this subject. Look for 'Book Excerpt' on main menu.

Healing Salve: A mixture of comfrey leaf, plantain, yarrow, St. Johnswort, rosemary and pennyroyal extracts in olive oil, thickened with beeswax. Useful for rashes, exema, cracked fingers, roughened skin, chapped lips, etc.

Aches and Pains Salve: A mixture of cabbage leaf, mugwort, celandine, horsetail, flowering thyme, fireweed, ginger root & cayenne extracts in olive oil, thickened with beeswax. Useful for all sorts of aches and pains, inflammation, swollen joints and sore spots.

A good dose of comfrey extract is what makes this cream 'magic.' Comfrey helps restore the skin's health and vitality at the cellular level. Added to the comfrey are nourishing almond and coconut oils and aloe vera gel. The whole mix is lightly thickened with beeswax and scented with bitter almond extract. Happy customers say that this cream rivals the $30+ face creams sold in fancy cosmetics departments. It smoothes and tightens skin, treats minor skin rashes and blemishes and gives you a glowing complexion! Louise's Magic Cream makes an excellent night cream.

This is one of the first herbal products that I learned to make. I have since discovered its effectiveness for any nerve disorder - particularly psoriasis, smashed or wounded digits, neuralgia, fibromyalgia, etc. It is made simply of St. Johnswort blossoms steeped in olive oil.

For years this has been the 'boo-boo' medicine for my family. Any smashed, scraped or bruised area responds amazingly to an application of comfrey tincture. A compress (made from soaking some tincture in a rag or paper towel) applied to a sprain, strain or even a break will start the cells mending. Contains comfrey root extracted in 40% alcohol.

This is one of my most popular (and most effective) new products. I put a few concepts together and came up with a truly effective headache remedy. It consists of a strong olive oil infusion of yarrow (leaf and flower) with the essential oils of lavender and peppermint thickened with beeswax. Apply to sinuses, temples, up the back of the neck - wherever there is pain. Press in, gently, on pressure points to send the healing on the way!

I have known for years that Jewelweed is a powerful poison ivy antidote. Yet many times poison ivy hits when the jewelweed is barely up or has gone by - hence, the idea for a year round lotion. Contains Jewelweed extracted in Witch hazel and 40% alcohol. Apply at the first sign of blisters and they dry up overnight! Can also be applied as a preventative.

This product is the direct result of a published study conducted in Scotland. When the combination of ingredients used were readily available in my workshop, I knew I had to try it. Tested on a male friend - the results were as promised. Within a week or two, new hair was growing in a spot that had been long bare on the top of his head. Herbal Hair Restorer contains Grapeseed oil, Jojoba oil and essential oils. One tablespoon is applied nightly and massaged in for 5 minutes.

While visiting Ireland, I used something similar to this product, called 'Gripe Water' when my 3-month-old daughter had colic. This is my Americanized version with extracts of dill, fennel and catnip in vegetable glycerin. Useful for gas ('windies' in Ireland,) stomach pain, indigestion and nervous stomach.
