| OVEN BAKED APPLE FRENCH TOAST | ||
| 1 cup brown sugar | ||
| ½ cup butter | ||
| ¼ cup maple syrup | ||

Mix in a small saucepan and cook on medium for 5 minutes Pour into a 9 x 13 baking dish Peel and core 3 large apples. (I used granny smith) Slice about ½ thick so core hole is in middle and arrange in a close pattern in single layer on top of brown sugar mix Place sliced rounds or ovals of French bread over the apple slices, again closely placed and in a single layer. |

| Whisk together: | ||
| 5 eggs | 1 tablespoon vanilla | |
| 1 ½ milk | 1 tsp cinnamon | |
| ½ tsp nutmeg | ½ cup raisins (opt.) | |
| Pour over bread. Top with raisins. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 350. Bakes uncovered for 50 minutes or until bread is golden brown. You can turn upside down on platter and serve ala upside down cake. Or leave in baking dish so you can see the bread slices. Yum! | ||
